Planning a wedding isn’t easy. Planning a wedding to happen in 3 months is even harder. And Yeahhh! It’s my turn to announce our big day for the wedding!
Although BIG and I have been planning our wedding for a while from May, but actually it’s hard for us since we were not living together, I was in Taiwan and BIG was in the United States. So after a month and a half we live together here, we still decide to get married. (yes, he still loves me, and he said forever)
Actually the minute you get engaged, everyone will be asking for your wedding date. But in reality, you won’t be able to set an exact date until other major decisions—like choosing (and booking) your venue—are made. Yet, we focused on determining a range of dates that’ll work for us. And we set 10/10/2016 as our big day. (although they said 10/10 this year is one of the dates that we should avoid cause it’s a Monday holiday) The reason why we still choose on that day is because it’s the DATE to us, not just the DAY.
In Taiwan, the DAY we called Double Ten Day, is National Day. The official celebration begins with the raising of the flag of the Republic of China in front of the Presidential Building, along with a public singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of China. It is then followed by celebrations in front of the Presidential Building; from time to time, a military parade may occur. Festivities also include many aspects of traditional Chinese and/or Taiwanese cultures, such as the lion dance and drum teams, and cultural features coming from Taiwanese aborigines are integrated into the display in recent years. Later in the day, the President of the Republic of China would address the country and fireworks displays are held throughout the major cities of the island.
I designed and made this save-the-date magnet because we are having a destination or holiday wedding and we really wish our family and friends to show up.
